A remote sensor is placed in between the liner and the underpants which employs a 9-V plug and a battery. A signal is flashed to the alarm as soon as the sensor perceives the slightest bit of moisture on the absorbent liner. In fact it is quite similar to an alarm clock, will continue to sound until the child or parents wakes and stops it. That is why this alarm is called a wired enuresis alarm because there are no wires attached to the sensor. The child has to get up to stop it immediately response to urine, so that should be placed far distance from the bed. Anyhow the liner for the underpants is very small and narrow in case of boys and the sensor will not fit in to that so this type of bedwetting alarm is not suitable for them. Today the panty liner with in built sensors is the most common type of bed wetting alarms on the market. The sensor is clipped to the pajamas and also connected to the alarm. Even a wire from the clip to the liner is connected to a clock alarm. In fact this is the cheapest model of bedwetting alarms on the market, but it has some disadvantages. However the same technique is followed in this as the sound will make when moisture is detected. Another thing is that the child will not run to the bathroom because the wires will pull loose from the sensor. Even this type of alarm is not effective as a solution to bedwetting for some children. There is the latest bed wetting alarms which attach with a rubber pad. This type of alarm is also wired but does not create any problem with the wires getting tangled; in fact it is completely pulled free. You have to place this enuresis alarm over the mattress cover and then cover it with the bed sheet. Of course it will work as another does. However there is no clip for the child’s pajamas rather there are rechargeable batteries to be used. This will make to save your expenses in buying a lot of replacement batteries. It is harder to clean because until the wet bedclothes are replaced the alarm will keep sounding. However, it is the most effective of the bed wetting alarms.
